SCHOOLS COMPETITION 2002
"HOW DO YOU THINK WE CAN ACHIEVE WORLD PEACE?"
NOTIFICATION OF PRIZE WINNERS

We wish to sincerely thank all those students who took part in the competition.

Check out some of the entries HERE

The number of entries and the high standard of the work received made the job of judging them extremely difficult, but at the same time very heartening. The ideas put forward and the imaginative manner in which they were presented strengthened our belief that there are a great many young people who have the skills and willingness to work towards achieving a safe, happy and just world for all who live in it.

Because of the high standard and large numbers, we decided to extend the number of categories from the four advertised by dividing the two central categories (Yr 3 - Yr 5; and Yr 6 - Yr 9) into separate years from Yr 3 to Year 7, with Yrs 8 and 9 remaining as one group. We also decided in some categories to issue Second Prizes.

The prize winners are as follows:

Years 1 & 2 First Prize Christopher, Yr 1 Norton Summit Primary School, SA

Emma, Yr 2 Centaur Primary School, Tweed Heads, NSW

There were no entries above Year 10.

Where space permits we are showing the work of the prize-winners at the GALLERY.  Later, we hope to also reproduce some of the other works submitted.

Special mention must be made of the excellent entries received from four members of the Klippel-Cooper family of South Australia (Tiffanwy, James, Dayffyd and Gwylim).  Since their entries appear to have been sent individually, and not chosen by their classmates, we had to treat them separately.  Their entries will also be reproduced on our website.

CERTIFICATES OF MERIT have been sent out to some students.
