All Australian schools are invited to take part in the
following competition:
Choose ONE of the following questions to answer:
1) How should countries resolve
their differences?
2) What can each person do to have Peace and Justice in
the world?
3) What must we all do to avoid wars?
4) What do people need for a fair and peaceful life? How
can this be achieved?
5) What can ordinary people do to rid the world of greed,
injustice and bullying?
6) We know what War is and what it looks like. But
what is Peace, and what does it look like?
7) Demonstrate how cross-cultural communication can bridge
differences between nations.
Consider at least one of the following aspects:
(a) United Nations b) Reconciliation c) Refugees d) Economics & Trade
(e) Politics
8) What do you understand about greed, freedom and
justice?
9) The world is in turmoil. Imagine -- You have the power
to change the world. What will you do to bring about justice and peace?
10) Water Wars : How does exploitation of water resources
lead to instability within a region?
--2003 is the United Nations International Year of
Fresh Water

Present your entry in one of the following forms:
an essay (max. 500 words)
a Poem
artwork
a PowerPoint presentation
or any form which can be emailed
Entries close on 30th September 2003 - There is
NO entry fee
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and the
winners notified
**One prize will be awarded for each and every
school year level
Reception - Yr 4 ………. $20 cash + $30 book voucher
Yr 5 - Yr 8 …………….. $30 cash + $40 book voucher
Yr 9 - Yr 12 …………… $50 cash + $50 book voucher
Schools of winning entries will receive "On a Paper Crane"
teaching kit (story of Sadako)
