New Star Wars video A Space4Peace

APC has received a new video from the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, and the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. It is a 38 minute documentary about the movement for peace in space and the role of the new Star Wars Missilie program at Vandenberg Air Force Base in the USA. It features Helen Caldicott, Loring Wirbel (author of Star Wars: US Tools of Global Dominance) and Phil Coyle, former US Assistant Secretary of Defense. $12 per copy to APC (SA) Inc. 11 South Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000 Bulk copies $10 each.

Our Lady of the Rosary school at Kenmore in Brisbane have launched a Peace Project to encourage people of the world to think and act peacefully. EPA will use poor kids as guinea pigs in new study on pesticides

The Enviromental Protection Agency led by Bush appointees plans to launch a new study in which participating low income families will have their children exposed to toxic pesticides over the course of two years.

The Coalition for Women's Human Rights in Conflict Situations launches it's website.

The Coalition for Women's Human Rights in Conflict Situations was launched in 1996 and aims to promote the adequate prosecution of perpetrators of crimes of gender violence against women in transitional justice systems based in Africa, in order to create precedents that recognise violence against women in conflict situations and help find ways to obtain justice for women survivors of sexual violence.

ACFID prepares for UN Commission on Human Rights

The Australian Council for International Development is determining the key issues to put to the 61st UN Commission on Human Rights which will be held in Geneva in March-April 2005. Reconciliation document for discussion

Non government organisations, individuals and reconciliation and human rights groups are examining a draft treaty document aimed at the "comprehensive settlement of the South Australian problem" which incorporates the basic measures of a Charter or Bill of Human Rights. US proposes to Smart Bomb Australia

Close defence between Australia and the US will involve major military exercises on Australian soil, especially in the Shoalwater Bay training area of Central Queensland.
